Art classes a parent can understand, compare and start
MyFav School teaches art online to children aged 5 to 15. A parent arriving has three questions: is this right for my child, what does it cost me to find out, and how do we start.
The client
MyFav School runs online art classes for children aged 5 to 15, with the stated aim of building creativity, focus and confidence in a safe, inclusive space. It teaches animal drawing, anime and creative drawing, in groups and one to one, and publishes a coloring book of its own.
What the site had to do
- Age bands, because a parent of a six year old and a parent of a fourteen year old are shopping for different things
- A low-risk way to try it, since nobody commits a child sight unseen
- Reassurance about safety and environment, which is what parents actually screen for
- Practical detail: schedule, materials, what happens in a lesson
What we built
1
Classes banded by age, then by format. Beginner for 5 to 8, Intermediate for 9 to 12, Advanced for 13 to 15, plus one-to-one. A parent finds their child’s band first and compares within it, instead of reading everything.
2
A seven day free trial as the first ask. The trial is the call to action across the site, so the decision a parent has to make is a small one. Enrolment happens on the site, without an email exchange.
3
Course pages that answer the practical questions. Anime, animal and creative drawing each described by what the child will actually learn and at what pace, with materials listed down to paper, pencil, eraser, sharpener and ruler.
4
The reassurance parents screen for. Founder’s welcome, story, mission, vision and core values, plus an explicit commitment to a safe, joyful and inclusive space for children, stated rather than implied.
5
Everything after the sign-up. Working hours, a daily class schedule, a newsletter for class and event updates, student login for enrolled families, and the coloring book as a second way in.
What the site does now
- Sorts classes by age band and by group or one-to-one
- Starts a seven day free trial without an email exchange
- Lists what each class teaches and what the child needs to hand
- Answers the safety and environment questions parents screen for
- Carries the schedule, working hours and a student login
